Fitting and safety
Brakes
- Brakes are safety-critical. If you are not sure how to fit or adjust them, have the work done or checked by a competent person, such as a bike or scooter workshop.
- Bed in new brakes: in a safe place, make a series of gentle stops from low speed before you ride normally.
- Keep oil and grease away from brake discs and pads.
- Test both brakes before every ride.
