Fitting and safety

Brakes

Brakes are safety-critical. If you are not sure how to fit or adjust them, have the work done or checked by a competent person, such as a bike or scooter workshop.
Hydraulic brakes must be bled after a lever or hose has been replaced, using the brake fluid specified for your model. If you have not done this before, have a workshop do it.
Bed in new brakes: in a safe place, make a series of gentle stops from low speed before you ride normally.
Keep oil and grease away from brake discs and pads.
Test both brakes before every ride.
